Headrest guides

Hi there, any tips on installing a new set of plastic headrest guides for the driver comfort seat? Do I prize off the flat plastic cover on the top of the seat with a trim removal tool and then try to pull them out or unclip them somehow? Thanks!

I have some recollection of a clip or snap ring that retains them. Perhaps I'm confusing with another model but easy enough to check as the rear seat back is easily removed.

Thanks, i just found a guide for the E34 that described doing it by removing the back of the seat, and a related video.
