Last month, due to lose bottle cap, water spilled on the passenger seat and right after that Airbag light came up. The original error was Passenger side Restraining system Malfunction. I looked at the codes and it all points to the Capacitive (Mat) Occupancy sensor. I checked all the fuses and and also tried disconnecting the sensor but no luck.
Anyone has this issue please share how did you fix it?
Thanks in advance

What is the actual error? Error code and the description.

Thanks for your reply!
Error on the dashboard is "passenger restraint system malfunction" with Airbag Red light On. Error code on the scanner are 930AC0 & 930A1C.
0x930AC0 ODS-System: seat occupancy sensor Passenger: sending algorithm error
0x930A1C ODS-System: seat occupancy sensor Passenger: sending sensor failure because of wetness
The occupancy sensors on these cars work using a capacitative system, very similar to phone touchscreens. This also means that if the seat material is still wet, it will keep throwing a fault.
There is a small black module connected to the seat occupancy sensor, check that area for wetness too.
It may be that you have to dry out the leather/leatherette seats (and the sponge!) first before it will let you clear it.
If you really want to get your hands dirty, then you can lift the upholstery and dry it, but that's a bit advanced.

Thank you very much. I will try to dry the area using heater under the seat.
Same error after rain wet the seat. Small fun blowing under the seat, code cleared itself.
