Can anyone tell me why I have oil on the manifold stud bolts just on this one cylinder? It’s not coming from above as I changed the vc gasket out and have no leaks from above. I wiped off bolts and drove for awhile and oil was back. BB60749A-DE37-4B15-9689-47A965F4F306.jpgBB60749A-DE37-4B15-9689-47A965F4F306.jpgBB60749A-DE37-4B15-9689-47A965F4F306.jpg
Definitely looks like valve cover gasket. Did you change the the rubber grommets on all the valve cover nuts? If not, those are what push down the valve cover and smash the gasket to create the seal.

Yes i replace all tube seals and torqued to spec. Its not coming from above. It’s like it coming inside the head to outside through the studs. It’s weird.
I had a similar leak after changing the vc gasket and it turned out I had too much oil in the engine. Leak stopped after I got the proper amount of oil in the engine. Sounds crazy but true.

So it was coming out from behind the manifold flange?
no it was leaking from where the vac gasket is. On the M50 engine you’ll notice the passenger side of the vc is lower than on the fuel rail side. In other words the vc sits at an angle and not level. I had too much oil in the engine so the leak was on the lower side of the vc. M50 never leak on the high side or fuel rail side and mostly leak on the lower side where the exhaust manifold is. When you changed the vc gasket did you make sure the mating surfaces were very clean? Did you apply RTV to the half moons on the rear of the engine?
Yes i did all of it. Again it’s not coming from the vc gasket. There is no oil coming from above this exhaust port. None. No oil.
