Hello everyone, I’m currently undergoing my first real project, a 87 325es being swapped with a m50, and I have a question about how to properly prep the body for paint. The engine bay has already been shaved and repainted, and the engine is now in, so I’ve begun to worry about the rest of the car, more specifically the few rust patches I have in the wheel wells and such, as well as the holes the previous owner drilled in the trunk and fenders for a spoiler and fender flares. I’m currently pretty broke from the rest of the project, but would love a way to fill these holes and rust patches so that I can one day paint everything. In a perfect world it would be something that would seal off all unpainted metal and protect it from rain and the elements, so that I could drive it around for a few months before taking it in for paint. Unfortunately I’ve never welded before so a solution involving bondo or glue or something would be most useful, but if someone who knows what they’re talking about tells me welding is the best way to go I can definitely learn, any tips or advice would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.
Only weld. Learn how to, or have it done.
welding is the solution
