headlight tint?

Anyone here installed headlight tint on their Z3? If so, was the install easy and can it easily be removed without damaging the headlight lenses?

My 2001 had headlight tint on it when I bought the car, it was removed as soon as possible. It made the headlights miserable to use.

Why would anyone think that tinting a headlight is a good idea?

I never drive at night due to ageing eyes so I don't use the headlights. I thought tinting them might give my 2001 red Z3 roadster a more sinister look. Truth be told though, it's probably not realistic to think a little red roadster can be made to look sinister.

I too wanted to change the look of the front, with out doing anything irreversible. I made the chrome grill trim body color, removed the chrome surround on the headlights lens and added carbon fiber brows on top of the headlight lenses. Also made a splitter under the front lip. It gives a different look that can be returned to stock easily.

That's a great look. Have you detailed those mods somewhere? My 2001 hellrot red roadster is not an M so I don't think the splitter mod would work.

Thanks, but no I haven't. I did them one at a time over the last four years that I've owned it. I get bored in the winter and little projects cures it. But there's nothing really hard about what I've done. I use info here on the forum a lot.
