Thanks! Wondering if removing my rear GC sway would help with rear lockup in some of the braking zones as well. Thinking it would allow better surface contact over irregularities.

Maybe, but I'd think marginal gains.
I like a lot of front bias, on the order of 75% (I get 1.2g sustained under braking with Toyo RR's, so that begs for more front bias).

Great looking build! You going to run at any of the Midwest tracks this summer?

Of course Matt! OIR,NCM, Putnam, Heartland, Barber and the new Knoxville tracks are potentials. Maybe a Road America jaunt up in your neck of the woods if I am feeling loopy.

Been getting somewhere finally. TCKline was wonderful as always in getting me setup with the odds/ends to ensure it would all bolt up to the mounts/etc. Been bolting it up sans springs to I can check wheel/tire clearance and do some more sheet metal grinding where needed. Going to buy a set of 1/2" spacers for the front shocks to lengthen the bump stop just as a safety measure to ensure no contact but really happy with the amount I think I will be able to lower to get into the normal e36 ride height range. New spring setup with the TCKline SA's 550F/650R, will need to do some follow-up research on ride height settings and initial koni settings to use as a starting point. All new joints/bushings installed in the the rear. Diff has been resealed, and she should be on her own 4 feet in another week. Then time to move to the MK60 install......

Wiring harness for the MK60 is 75% complete. Just need to wrap it up, toss in some new motor mounts, mount my new NT01s and get an alignment by Apr1. Yes, I finally decided to go with the larger diameter NT01s. Will take some tweaking to ensure fit but I know I love them!

    You'll love the MK60.

    What size NT01's?

    275/40/17 sir!

I have been driving e36s with malfunctioning abs forever so MK60 is going to be mind blowing. Sooo excited.

1/2 season after installing the MK60 I remember realizing, I wasn't thinking about the ABS anymore.
I guess some folks don't install the yaw sensor. I expect you are, but if not, I highly recommend it. It informs the MK60 when to switch to 4 channel on turn-in.

Yes sir it's going in for sure. Going to mount it next to the pump.

Did you do anything with the shield ground straps for any of your sensor wires?

Pretty sure I did not. Folks use the original wiring and use the ground shield as a signal wire, and it works. So I was pretty sure a unshielded twisted pair would work fine.

    Progress

Shes coming together for my event end of the week at NCM. Got the two new fuse panels mounted, all ABS system components are wired in and lines all seem to be leak free. Was able to monitor all 4 wheel speeds, bleed each corner during ABS activation of each corner all with the Foxwell tool. Wheels/tires/new studs all installed and now setting clearances with the adjustable front arms/ride height tweaks. Crazy how much bigger these tires are in diameter. May not have time to install my sound deadening device so will have to rig something up track side if I blow sound. Also hoping I have time for installing a splitter but with alignment date on Wednesday running out of open evenings.....

Wish the new CR-S would have been available. Supposed to be the hot ticket and 275/35! Can't complain, love me some NT01s just need to do some clearancing is all...

Yea, I may try the CR-S in 275/35. Not a lot on the webs about that tire, Nankang website doesn't even have specs.

Soooooo. Long weekend started off by seeing the shop still not getting my car on the alignment rack 2.5 days later so ended up wrenching on my own car during the alignment to get it knocked out so I could head to the track. Had to drill out my fender flares and remove the front bumper to get the alignment heads on the new NT01 rubber.

Once at track wish I could say it started out better. Rear was rubbing during the first session and ended up stopping after a couple warm up laps so put in longer springs and raised the ride height 0.5" which seems to have solved that. Second session actually went fairly well as I started to tweak shift points and pickup some needed momentum. 3rd session was ready to conquer the world now that the car was shaken down from a long winter and test out my new ABS system. 2 turns in BAAAAMMMMMM:

In moronic move #1000 with this car, no hood pin was latched and I had to sit idle while other cars marveled in my idiocy while they passed by with my hood 10' in the air. No glass available within a 50 mile radius and thought the weekend was over. Quick idea came to the group to check out lowes/HD and within an hour had some Polycarb, aluminum plate, rivets and windowweld.

Surely with this LTW front glass I would get on pace quickly. After a successful session to wrap up the afternoon and the MK60 doing its job as intended, I was amped to hit the next days events but a night on the town decided otherwise. So here I am back home with a mangled up hood, 3 sessions, and a new windshield after a fun weekend with the bros. Here's to hoping Heartland Park makes everything right in the world again in 8 weeks. Until then I have a splitter to build, new (quieter) muffler to try, and maybe I will find a second hand hood closeby. Or run the battle scar we will see.

So cut, drill, and rivet polycarb to car in a few hours? Awesome!

Sometimes the fun with friends is the most important thing.

I am just amped at the fact the MK60 went well. Biggest noticeable difference was the role the system would play during trail braking when I went a bit too hot into the corner. Very subtle pulsing keeping the tire from sliding and washing out on approach to the apex. Now just need to trust it 100% as I am still used to checking my mirrors for smoke every time I get a bit over the limit. Now just need to push harder on the pedal!

On the other hand, the pedal travel is a little deeper than I was hoping using the z3 3.0 master with my e46330F/e36m3R brake hardware setup.

Glad you're getting that all dialed in, you'll get to where you don't even think about the ABS!

I'm more curious if you see any improvement in brake release with the Mk60. As Ross Bentley always points out, that's more important to speed than starting the braking later.

Most of the time, brake release should take about 3/4's of a second. The MK60 is smoother and more predictable in trail, so I could see it adding confidence to that.

Man, I am FINALLY gaining confidence with the brake pedal and gaining serious time back on my buddies (GT4/C7GS/M2) and ended the weekend in the 1:52 range with improvements coming in large chunks as my braking zones continued to compress. 3 day weekend at Heartland was full of driving improvement thanks to the new ABS system instead of constant flat spot management it seems. I ran the fastest when I pushed right through ABS as deep into braking zones as possible so its apparently doing a great job managing lockup without my help :-). Can't imagine a car this fast and this safe for this kinda money so think I am going to keep ahold of her for a couple more years while making improvements each event to try and keep pace with the modern machinery. TCKlines are nice and compliant, I need to focus my efforts now on getting a splitter setup nailed down. Heel toe can use a bunch of worth with this non-m brake master causing additional pedal travel than I am used to and might need to drop the tranny due to a potential clutch slave issue.

Car is running like a rabid ape, with some exhaust repairs (new bullet resonators) helping prevent the backfiring noises I was having and the harness repair kit from Matt at Trailbrake solved my dash issues so it is functioning better than ever. Removed the seat cushion and now feel like I have all sorts of headroom which is a nice change, but will probably update the seat eventually.

Some laps from buddies POV: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ly58glfx2i..._Laps.mp4?dl=0

Fun having friends all with similar car capabilities to chase (in my case try to keep up).
