I'm planning on dropping the subframe to R&R motor mounts and while that's happening I could lower the engine a bit to gain clearance to the firewall. So, I was thinking it would be an ideal time to put silicone intake hoses on as I've read it's a major pain to install the rear one normally.
Is it worth the effort? Will I notice any difference? Or is it just a wallet drain? BMS claims 30-50WHP gains (no idea if that's on FBO or basic setup with OE intercooler etc).
I run JB4 Map 1 on stock original snails (280,000km on them (!!)), and have since 2013. Still even has the OE plastic inlet that's never blown off. Car is a DD that I haven't pampered one little bit. It gets normal maintenance only. I haven't even considered a catch can...
All input cheerfully received.
