    Switched 12volts

Where is the easiest place to pick up switched 12volts? I want to power up aftermarket gauges.

Any number of places directly on the Fuse Panel.

This unit assumes there is an empty slot in the fuse panel, and it is factory wired. Rarely have I seen "unpopulated" fuse slots that are wired. BUT, I'll look again.

Actually it does not require an empty slot in the fuse panel! There are 2 fuse slots in the device. 1 is for whatever you’re adding and the other is for the original circuit!! Pretty neat!

But IT plugs into the car's fuse panel, right? "Any number of places directly on the Fuse Panel." From what I have seen, any empty slot in the fuse panel lacks pins. Besides that, any populated (that is unused) would have to be "switched" and not hot all the time.

You can get switched 12v from the headlight switch, from the ignition, from the radio. If you just want to wire up some gauge lights, I'd say probably the parking light circuit. That way they light up when you turn the headlight switch to first position.

Yes it plugs into any open slot, but you can plug into a slit that has a fuse. The original fuse still protects the car’s circuit and the new fuse uses the same power source as the original fuse.
