E36 M3 Bosch Euro Air Mass Sensor

    SORRY, THIS IS NOW SOLD
Brand new, genuine Bosch Air Mass Sensor (aka HFM) as upgrade for 1995 M3 or 1996+ M3s converted to OBD1. Bosch P/N: 0280217806.
This larger-diameter unit improves engine breathing when making other modifications to increase top-end power. I bought this from Turner for my 1995 M3 but due to a change of pians it was never installed.
Currently listed for U$511.95 by Turner, but back-ordered. For sale in the Toronto area or can be shipped at buyer's expense. Asking $295.

Do you have to get the car tuned after installing this?

TBH I'm not sure. I bought a package including a chip, and a cold-air intake, from Turner, but I'm not sure whether a retune is actually needed. Perhaps check out the literature on turner's web site.

You will indeed need software that is tailored to this larger air flow meter. The signal it ends is calibrated differently to the DME than the 3" unit. Usually, it is paired with injectors and a cold air intake, as well as a more free flowing exhaust. Many people also do cams while they are doing all the rest of it so they don't have to pay for another chip for the DME down the line. All that said, I ran a 95 M3 with full bolt ons, the 3.5" MAF, 24lb injectors, and shorty headers and it did pull a lot harder than the stock version.

You do not need a tune for an 800 or 806 MAF if that is all you are changing.

    803/809 absolutely do.

Boldstep, Sorry I missed this when you sent it 8 weeks ago. I still have the MAF, but somebody in California is interested. If that sale doesn't go through I will get back to you.
