    Let's talk vacuums

Does any one have a recommendation for a compact vacuum for interior cleaning. I think the default many people do is a shop vac with whatever hose and attachment works, but its sometimes a pain dragging it around the car, Making sure the cord has reach, dragging it back the other way around. Afraid of it bumping the paint. Etc.

So I had a though that a battery powered unit might work. Not a little dust devil for a few stray crumb, but rather something like this: Makita XCV11Z 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 2 Gallon HEPA Filter Portable Wet/Dry Dust Extractor/Vacuum, Tool Only https://a.co/d/60xHzi7

Anyone have experience with using something like this? Is it really enough to suck dirt and dust from deep in the carpet?

Any other recommendations for a good, compact (even if corded) vacuum that works real well for interior cleaning?

I have an 18V Milwaukee 2 gallon. I use it on cars when I don’t want to bother with a shop vac or don’t have access to one and it is OK but not as good as the shop vac. It is adequate, but takes longer and a big battery is good for maybe 15 minutes and a small battery much less. I have plenty of batteries, which are not cheap.

Sounds like a battery unit is not the answer then for typical cleaning. I just want something a bit more convenient than dragging the shop vac.

It depends on whether you want the battery vac to be a anywhere near as good as the shop vac or whether you would be content if it was not.

Look for a Black Friday sale at HD or Lowes, try it out for a couple of weeks and return it if it is not what you want. I have the 18V box vac and the 18V “teacup” vac and find the box vac useful for its portability and decently powerful but don’t like the teacup vac. I want to buy the new 9 gallon dual battery shop vac. Already have batteries and you would want 9 or 12ah for that.
