Hi I know this recall has been discuss but I can’t seem to find a answer, in another posted it was suggested I start a new thread.
I have a 2009 328i and it has been identified as part of the PCV heater valve recall. Currently, per my mechanic I probably need to replace my valve cover gasket/valve cover (I believe he said cost would be approximately $1200-$1400). I read in another post about 6 months ago that replacing the valve cover/gasket might need to happen as part of this recall.
My Question: Does anyone know if replacing the valve cover/gasket is done as part of the 328 PCV recall?
Thanks
If there's a recall, it will be covered by BMW of North America for all items and cost involved.
Is the mechanic shop your using a BMW Independent shop? Some can do the warranty work if the tech is certified, but they too would have to contact BMWNA to get authorization first of course.
Are you leaking from the valve cover?

Thanks for replying.
The independent BMW shop diagnosised/provided the info on the valve cover gasket leak, he said it will hold for a while, wife noticed a puff of smoke once in a while.
I will have Bmw do the recall, just trying to understand if the recall will require BMW to replace the valve cover/gasket when they do do the recall, so I don’t need to spend the money. Do you know if the valve cover/gasket is replaced as part of the recall?

I have no idea, as I don't work at a dealership.
