Hello everyone
My blower motor in my car is so weak. All fan speeds work but they are so weak. On 1 there is barely air coming out, on 2 and 3 there is more air but it's not as it should be. What can the problem be?
Old and worn-out motor, and/or old and worn-out wiring. If you can't get a new motor, an electrical repair shop should be able to replace the brushes and bearings of the existing one. WIT, you can clean up and tighten the wiring contacts. Replacing the wiring with new and heavier-gauge is something I recommend, but a bigger job.
also clean the 2 blower cages outside on the motor shaft, could be full of leaves, also found a cage which got lose on the shaft and did not rotate much with the speed of the motor drive shaft.
Or Mikey got stuck inside '-) http://www.bimmerboard.com/members/s...ouse%20001.jpg

you’re an 89 so don’t think you have a cabin filter but that location might still be worth checking for debris. This is what mine looked like

Viperocco, Did you harvest a rabbit out of there too? Maybe have some stew for dinner…
I can’t make it out from the picture. Where exactly is that?

Passenger footwell behind the carpeted panel.
After the resistor "sword" is removed, you will have access to the area where the detritus resides.
Bring a shop-vac. After removing the resistor, I plug it back in and power up the hvac fan and close all vents. All sorts of good stuff should come out.
