    My sad R60

    2014 Cooper S Countryman, 110k miles

    -Shitty compression

-Loses coolant over a few weeks and overheats. Haven’t determined where it goes; it’s not under the car.

-Have replaced lots of things trying to chase it down. Any ideas? Is it time for a valve job?

Sounds like a classic leaking head gasket. You likely don’t need the valves resurfaced, but the head probably needs to come off anyway. Have it checked for straightness. Look closely at the head gasket for signs of failure. Take it to a machine shop for them to examine if you don’t know what to look for.
The overheating is a very bad sign. If you let the engine overheat, that can cause serious damage. You need to shut it off at the first sign of overheating, as in the temp gauge getting above the 3/4 gauge mark. Let it cool before restarting.
