Car doesn't start after changing Camshaft Position Sensor

    Hi.
I have codes about Camshaft Position Sensor.
fault with Inlet signal and signal duration.
In my opinion, it should be sensor's fault and I decided to change it.
I bought a sensor in a local store by Hella(They said it was Hella, but there was a text on sensor>Made in china).
We installed sensor and car didn't start at all.
There was a crank but nothing more.
We reinstalled old sensor and car started normally.
Then we tought new sensor was faulty by factory and we took another sensor but from another brand.
We installed it and car didn't start.
As engineers said, these cars(E46) need Original sensors, not aftermarket.

Guys, if you had similar issue, what did you solve this problem?
What brand do you recommend which will work?
Why do not work these sensors?

Yes, you need an OE/OEM sensor, as you can see, they just don't work otherwise. Normally Hella is the OE provider, but Bosch can also at times be the OE provider too.

Lesson learned. Stay away from Made in China. Made in Japan is OK such as NGK spark plugs.

Can I use original Bosch sensor?
Now, should I believe that Hella sensor was not actual Hella?

    Yes, it was a lesson.
Now I'm so confused and choosing sensor carefully.
Where should I buy sensor to be sure it will be original or working at least

A good possibility you got a knock-off sensor which is branded as Hella, as the one I installed on my wagon was made in France.

If you can get your hands on a Bosch, you can go with that. Just check where it's made at, should be in Europe.

    Thanks guys.
I have just bought that sensor on eBay.
It's preOwned, but removed from the working car, so it's original one.
When I get and install it, I will write how it works
