Question 1995 525iTM - How To Bypass the Rear Wiper Fluid Level Sensor?

Title says it all, pretty much. PO removed the rear wiper and tank, but left most of the wiring in tact. Front wiper tank is full and sensor works, ergo it's the rear that is giving me the business all day and all night...

Bentley manual had nothing to offer - the EWS diagrams show everything *but* the wiper fluid level sensors. Go figure.

Is it as simple as just jumping the level connector? An in-line resistor, perhaps? How about those rear wiper related relays back there? They have anything to do with this? Maybe something in the GM I can jump/cut?

Search function didn't yield any solid answers, just a lot of people suggesting "DiD yOu TrY fIlLiNg ThE wIpEr ReSeRvOir ??" Got no reservoir to fill, homies. 🤷*♂️

Thoughts? Sugestions? Success stories? Just some general giving of guff? Hit me with it, and thanks in advance

Pin 3 of check control is grounded when both front and rear level switches are closed. Page 312 of the wiring diagrams:

That was actually the first thing I tried, but it didn’t do :/

Maybe the front tank level sensor is bad in addition to the missing rear… fun!

Disconnect harness connector to the sensor.

Try shorting the pins in the harness where the sensor connector is supposed to go. The sensor is a very simple device: it either presents a short or open to the monitor circuit. It depends on how the designer chose to implement the circuit.

Thank you for the tip For sure, this was assumed and the link to the wiring guide provided by whisksychaser confirms that. I’m currently leaning to the issue being a short or break in a wire along the way as the message is present whether the connector is jumped or open. Tried it with the front tank sensor connector as well and no change, still getting the low message, quite a quandary…

A break in the wiring is possible. Unplug the CCM and check that pin 3 of the green plug is grounded, which it should be if both front and rear sensor switches are closed or the plugs jumpered.
