I just bought a 2011 335i (n55) e90 automatic and could use some help doing some diagnostics on the car. On top or alongside the no start issue it also has a massive parasitic drain on the battery which completely dies overnight and within a few hours the car won't crank. The previous owner replaced the battery and said that afterwards the car wouldn't start and the car was supposedly parked for just a few months because it was entering limp mode. I ran codes and the only thing that popped out to me for a potential no start was a ced4 error code for no com to fuel pump control module. I made an assumption that I needed to replace the module so I bought a new one as well as pro tool so I can code the module. I also wanted to register the new battery I had got for the car as the previous owners battery he had just bought was completely dead. I swapped and coded the module to result in 0 changes, even with faults cleared fault would come back the same with ced4. I checked power at fuel pump before changing the module and there's power and I can hear the pump prime, seems to stay priming which I thought was an issue. New module installed and all behavior is exactly the same and it failed on the battery swap so I was unable to do the registry. I also don't think I'm getting any spark as I sprayed starting fluid and nothing happened, and I pulled a plug and went to start it and didn't smell fuel. I'm sure there are better ways to check for fuel and spark, any advice or help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
