e34 transmission swap

hey everyone. my family bought me a g260 m20 as a surprise gift knowing i’ve been wanting to manual swap my car forever now. problem is i have a 535i (m30b35)

my question is can i make the g260 m20 fit on my car or would it be more worth my time and money to buy an m30 transmission.

any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome!

The M20 and M30 engine boltpatterns are different enough to be incompatible. You'll need an M10/M30/M88/S38 fitment transmission, or at least the bellhousing for older boxes.
