Hi everyone so as winter approaches this will be my real first time with the e30 325iX in snow as I sold my old winter beater. Im curious as to what tires people have used and where to find them I keep stumbling on some Kuhmo Ecsta all season tires but would prefer a dedicated winter tire. Im used to Blizzaks on my old Jeep cherokee and that thing was a tank hoping to replicate with the e30 as ive heard great things about it in snow
If you live some where that gets snow and ice, you definately want a winter tire. If it just gets a little colder in your area then all season is ok.
Any brand of winter tire will be better then a summer tire or an all season in winterweather. Conti and Michelin make a good winter tire. The cheaper china/ korea brands are not as good.

A really great budget alternative to Blizzaks were the Nokian Hakkapeliitta (non-studded).
So I do live in minnesota so definitely need the winter tire but im having trouble actually finding a winter tire in the 205 55R15 size. Im really curious I guess if i tried switching to a different size id have better luck
Use a tire calculator and play around with the sizes to get something close to your original size.
Something like this : https://tiresize.com/calculator/
Buy a set of winter rims and fit the winter tires to them. Switch on the all seasons/summer rims when the snow and ice are gone. Easy switch over then each winter.
I did that when I bought my 2001 330Ci. The factory tires were the original Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Bought 4 alloys and Bridgestone Blizzaks. Later I ditched the aftermarket alloys and replaced them with BMW steelies.
