Hello, guys.
I'm new to this forum and looking for some feedback for my new wheels that I bought over the weekend for my BMW 128.
I read in this forum that a good set-up for the BMW 1 series is 225/40/18 in the front and 255/35/18 in the back, so I went ahead and bought BAYERN rims and tires.
Now, my question is if the back wheels are too wide for the car as it sticks out 1/3 of an inch from fender - IMO it looks really good and I get no rubbing with the exception of a massive bump at high speeds the fender hits the wheel.
Looking for any feedback and/or comments.
Thank you so much.
At stock ride height and no track use or heavy loads (4 passengers), you can probably get away with tires and wheels that are slightly the wrong size for the car. Ideally, you would have studied the wheel offset and/or tire sizes before ordering. For any BMW, particularly one that is over 10 years old, you can research to see what others have done for wheels and tires and what works and what does not. I have oversize tires on my E36 M3 and have pulled the fenders and also done some clearancing inside the fenders but plan to cut off the fender lips to install flares.
