I recently purchased a 2011 328i convertible with only 63K miles. The car looks to be extremely well maintained. I have only had the car a couple months and everything was going well up until a few weeks ago. I drove the car to a restaurant with no issues. When I came out and started the car, I heard the dreaded warning chime and the Brake, ABS and i think traction control lights were on the dash as well as an electrical fault warning on the CIC screen .
I scanned the codes and got the following, C907, C91E, E587, E2D6, D947, E1E9. I tried clearing the codes and they kept coming back. I used my Autel scan tool and was able to activate the ABS pump and see signal going to each wheel speed sensor. The battery is only 5 months old. I have never had any issues with the car having a hard time starting due to a low battery. I couldn't clear the codes, they will not go away.
The next morning, there were no error messages and all was back to normal. I drove the car for a few weeks with no issues. The car sat for a few days and when I started the car yesterday, I got the same lights and codes.
I do not know where to even begin on this. The only thing I can think of is, I installed an Xtrons CIC car play system a few months ago. That is the only change that was made to the car. Everything else is stock. Could that be causing the issue? That system was installed for over a month before this happened the first time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Welcome to the Forum!
Please post word for word each code, thanks.
Yes there could be a connection, or a loose one in there somewhere.
