I have two 318ti BMW, a 1997 M3 and a 1998 standard. When looking up the 318ti M3 all I see is a 6 cylinder hot rod, while my 318ti M3 has the 1.9 4 cylinder engine, and the only difference from my 1998 318ti is the interior upholstery as far as I can tell. I have the original bill of sale, and it is listed as a 318ti M3. Both cars are stock, and in perfect condition, 200k and 250k.
Where can I get info on the 318ti-M3?
Hi,
There was no 318ti M3 that was marketed by BMW. The 318ti came with a M-package option which included a M3 front bumper, wider fender and door trim with M badging, a different two-piece rear bumper, unique interior and I am sure I am missing a few others. The 1995 models came with a limited edition "Club-Sport" package and in addition to the aforementioned options came with M3 exterior side mirrors as well. I believe the 1999 ti's all came with a M-badged steering wheel as well.
There is probably more information on your question to be found at 318ti.org.
