Back up camera and relay

I installed a back up camera in my 2011 E 93 empowered it from my set radio which is 12 1/2 V constant in 14 1/2 V when running in the camera works quite well. I want to use a relay so it’s not powered all the time triggered by the back up light but it doesn’t seem that the back up light Draw enough voltage to trip the relay and sent voltage to the camera. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I

Buy a new relay or check your wiring. Brake light lead should be more than enough to “activate” the relay.

Something in the wiring isn’t correct. The backup light circuit needs to be attached to the relay coil circuit while the camera power needs to be attached to the contacts.
