OK, my driver door key did not lock/unlock the door, i had to use FOB.
Being a paranoid person, I ordered and fixed the KEY LOCK CYLINDER as per utube videos.
It unlocks to left as desired, but I cannot use the key to turn to right and lock. I am "certain" (heard that before)
I did it right, but why can I not "lock" the doors using the key?
I can live with this as my concern was being locked out, and now I have 2 good FOBs I can push the button to lock.
If the FOB fails, I can use key to unlock and am OK.
Anyone else have this issue after "fixing" the key lock cylinder?

So if the repair went correctly, you can have a bad lock actuator, as it isn't locking. While I wouldn't be too concerned about it as the keyless works properly.
If you want to test to see if there truly is an issue, have the window open and hold the key in the lock to the locked position. It should roll up to close, do the same in the unlock to open the windows. Now if it doesn't close the windows, then I will say that there is an issues with the actuator.

Well I am OK. I can lock and unlock with the FOB, and UNLOCK with key.
My "concern" was that I could not LOCK with the key. This was strange to me as my neighbors 2003 323 convertible E46, I can lock his convertible with the key.
Just found it weird the key does not turn to the right, that is all.
The issue is that you most likely reassembled it incorrectly. I recall reading a thread recently, don't recall which board, where the guy had the same problem. Turned out the latch actuator wasn't in the right position when he attached the lock to it. I know that's a terribly fuzz recollection, but if the cylinder doesn't turn both directions it's a reassembly problem.

Because I did it like the utube video, must believe he was fixing a right side door lock, and mine is left side door, so I used the wrong part. Will live with it this way. Thanks you all. The internet is full of mystery and errors.
Did you test the key function when the tumbler and key were re-inserted into the handle?
I recently replaced my door handles (E36 in my case) and the key/tumbler would not rotate in one direction on one side because the leaves of the tumbler were slightly proud of the cylinder, and catching on the “window” they enter to lock.
I needed to file (Swiss pattern file) and polish the proud leaves with fine paper until the action was smooth.
