New here. Kinda at my wit's end. Couple days ago got a Drivetrain Malfunction message. Rough idle, sputtering loss of power etc eventually died. I installed new spark plugs, disconnected the neg terminal on the battery and started it back up. Ran great so i drove down to the gas station, turned it off. Put gas. Turned it back on and the error message popped up again. Same thing rough idle, almost died etc. Made it back home and parked. Really don't know what to do
Welcome to the forum.
You own a highly complex machine. You can't diagnose it by installing spark plugs, or disconnecting the battery.
The computers know what's wrong - that's why they told you there's a "drivetrain malfunction".
You need to take the car to a BMW specialist shop, and have them read the BMW codes (NOT P-codes), and tell you what they think the trouble is.
I can't emphasize enough how complex your car is , and how ineffective it is to try fixing it without actually knowing the problem.

2015 750il was probably a $100k car new that is now a $20k car with $100k car maintenance/repair costs. You do need dealer level diagnostics and you do need to keep on top of maintenance. A $6k trans job or $10k top end engine rebuild might not be worthwhile.
