Hello, sorry if there's another post about that, i tried to find something but I didn't found anything about mine problem.
I have e36 m52b20 1996 with siemens ms41
When i am trying to connect with inpa by using inpa compatible cable and 20pin - obd2 adapter I'm getting error IFH-0003. We tried inpa cable on other e36 and it works good. I had checked all 20pin cables to ECU plug and it seems that cables are ok. I have no idea what to do.
There is a whole dedicated subforum regarding coding and diagnostics.
Maybe this specific module needs ADS protocol, but I have an MS41 and it doesn't so I expect something else.

My similar problem was a bad cable. Different cable worked fine. ..... If it matters: I had a good cable for my 98M Roadster. I later bought a switched cable for my wife's 2006 330i (turns out I didn't need to). It was the switched cable that was no good.

I already tested this with 2 cables non of them worked with my car
I took my ECU out from e36 and connected to it wires, i can easily connect with it using inpa. That means mine engine harness is broken somewhere.
