Hello. i have a question about my SRS control module. I have a 1994 325is, and the airbag light came on after replacing a drivers side door handle. No airbag is in the door. I have checked to make sure fuse 42 and 43 are good. 42 being the power to the unit, but i don't know the pin number on the plug at the module to check for power at the module. Does anyone have a diagram of the plug giving what each pin location is for? I understand I may just need to have it reset, but I want to check to make sure it has power going to it first before taking it to the dealer or shop.
Also, another question about SRS modules. If I have a couple extra used SRS modules I want to try out in the car. Is there a danger of putting a module in the car and as soon as you reconnect the battery having the airbags deploy?
Thanks for any info!
Just get the SRS reset tool from eBay.

If you had the seat out and turned the key on, then the SRS will go out and look for system components and check them to see if they are going to work. If the seat was out, or just unplugged, then the missing components would trigger the SRS fault.
Thanks for the info. I didn't remove the seat, just the door panel. And I have the B800 SRS reset, and a Peake SRS reset, and neither reset it. Thats why I'm trying to make sure I have power at the SRS module itself, i just don't know which pin number at the module is supposed to be power.
I replaced the door handle about a year an a half ago and the airbag light has been on since. And since then I've done work on other things that might effect the SRS module also. So that's why I'm trying to make sure it has power before I pull more things apart.
1994 is at the border line, B800 as well as the Peake SRS tool start from 1994/5 depending on the SRS control unit installed. Quote from an B800 ad: Compatible - Models available for most BMWs built between 1994 and 2003 like ALL variants in E36/E46/E34/E38/E39/Z3/Z4/X5. But it doesn't work with 2001 BMW 330i.
What is the exact built month of your 1994 325i? Then select the correct ETM and check there http://wedophones.com/BMWManualsLead.htm 1994 ETM covers vehicles produced 09/1993 - 08/1994.

My '94 325 'vert only had the bag in the steering wheel and over the glove box. I could turn the light off with a diagnostic tool that I bought when my mechanic got a different job, but the light would come back due to some random movement of the passenger seat. It wasn't that the seat was occupied, but that if moved. Someone could sit there for a long time and the light would be off, then they would move the seat and the light came on. I've been driving since long before there were airbags, so if they are not going to work then I really don't care very much.
