Hi all, Just bought a 1981 323i and planning on replacing the standard 4 speed gearbox with the 5 speed overdrive style gearbox.
The only issue that seems to be coming up is finding a matching propshaft.
One viable option is to shorten the length of the original propshaft but i'm trying to find out if anyone has had any experience doing this?
I'd need to know how much shorter the prop would need to be or how much to cut off the original propshaft.
Many thanks!
5 speed overdrive 6 cylinder trans is 89 - 90 mm longer than the 4 speed (from memory)
