Hello all...
So last night, my wife and I ventured out of town for a drive at sunset. Before we left town, we pulled into McDonalds for a couple of shakes. Their entry had some huge potholes. I negotiated my way through their minefield of potholes and made an immediate turn into McDonalds. Ooops...in my concern about potholes, I neglected to use my turn signal. Suddenly, there was an irate lady yelling at me "We all know you're rich, but you still have to use turn signals". At first, I was a bit stunned. I usually try to be a courteous and conscientious driver. Yes, I failed at that moment. Then I realized the irony and humor of the situation. She's assuming we're rich and inconsiderate based on our 22 year old car! I guess it was an unintended compliment. In the end, we got the last laugh.

Ah yes, the rarified air of rich high 4 to low 5 figure car owners. How much is a new Civic again?

I'm not clear on this. Do you have to signal for every pothole? ..... Incidentally, you are rich.
S8ILVER - With the increase in used cars, I think I may have hit the low 5s. How about you?
zellamay - Yes, I signaled for every pothole. And no, I'm not rich. Just an ordinary guy with an extraordinary car.

Realistically, I think I'm in around 15.
On another subject, I just started using Hybrid Ceramic Spray Coating from Turtle Wax. This product is incredible. I received five compliments in the first week I used it. Six complements if you include the lady by McDonalds!

So... This made me laugh out loud.
FWIW 2 stories.
First, my non-car literate friends think my Z3M is an expensive car. I have to correct them. So I can relate to your story first hand.
Second, I get lots of redlight race invites from Corvettes and Mustangs, and a few Camaros, I just wave them on. 500hp vs sub 300hp car in about the same weight range? No Way!
Funny... Once this happened near to my home and I told the guy to meet me back in a hour and I would bring my Buick Grand National (I really do own a tweaked 800hp one). He turned pale and said NO because he knew what that was. Bhwahahahah
Sold this one....

2.3 Red Seats, that's the secret sauce IMHO LOL!

Hello Hoyt & Z Gator...
Thank you for the nice comments. We bought our first Z3 in 2015. It was steele grey with tannin red seats. But it was a high mileage car with 130K on the odometer. In 2018, I spotted its twin brother on ebay. Same color combo (same car in the pic). Our new ride had 42K on the clock when we bought it. For about a month, "the twins" shared the garage together. Today, our "new" car has around 50K on the odometer.
Yes, people have strange opinions on these cars. I've been asked "what is that a 68?" not sure what he thought it was but he seemed stunned when I said it was a 2000. Also had a young lady say "nice corvette". A lot of non-car-people seem to assume it is new and very expensive I think just because it is clean/waxed and it has a BMW badge.
My wife drives a 2014 Mercedes GLK 350. We got it used for $17k a couple of years after they stopped making them. Some of her friends and extended family have a real problem with it, even though they drive domestic SUVs that cost double or more. It's crazy.
