Dropped my 5 speed, now it will not shift

I was installing my 5 speed from underneath and the trans fell of my transmission jack. Under a foot fall but not a small fall either.

After the stumble, I'm having issues getting the input shaft (or whatever it is called) to move out of gear (shaft is all the way out)

I also drained the oil a bit working on the seals so maybe she just needs a top up.

What can I do to get her back to shifting? I used to be able to pull the shaft in and out with a screw driver but no longer.

Damn, spring plus ball bearing... This seems dangerous. Can I tap around that area to unbind anything or do I have to remove em?

I also ready I could beat the output shaft a bit?
I assume the selector rod or whatever shouldn't be touched.
