2004 BMW 745LI e66 - USA RHD - 110K miles

To review, the car sat idle for two months, now won't crank won't start.

I watched this YouTube video of diagnosing BMW starter issues using an Autel scan tool. ==> https://youtu.be/4U0MdHJhyos

He was enabled CAS ==> LIVE DATA ==> terminals ==> and while he pressed the start button he was able to read 12 volts and around 35 amps.

Using my Autel MD808 PRO scanner, I performed the same action however I only read 10v at terminal 50E and 9 amps at terminal 50L on a freshly charged 900 CCA AGM battery that is 2 years old. BTW, my charger does have AGM mode which is completely different than normal charging.

Next by LIVE DATA ==> INPUTS ==> I was able to confirm the brake light switch operates normally, which everyone knows is required to start the car.

I also found this BMW Training Module for the e65/e66 Car Access System (CAS) ==> https://ia801005.us.archive.org/11/i...s%20System.pdf

So now I have to wonder, am I dealing with a defective battery since I don't seem to be getting high current at terminal 50L.

Anyone else with experience of troubleshooting the CAS at this level?

TIA
