Thank you! So great to hear yours has kept you smiling. I’m enjoying it and all the little quirks. I smile ear to ear every time I press the key fob and hear that classic Alpine/BMW chirp from the alarm.

I also think half the fun has been waiting for the UPS/FedEx driver to deliver parts. Just picked up a trunk mat #82111470162 from Bimmerworld for $71 bucks delivered. Now my orders from ECS and FCP are a different story a bit frustrating with their poor inventory management systems. In stock, not in stock you guys all know the drill.
That trunk matt part number you used is for a sedan...

No difference in NVH I could discern. I did also replace the mid pipe hangers at the same time with OE.
Love your car! Truck nuts! 🤣 Fingers crossed one of these retailers gets the OEM Euro taillights back in stock. I picked up the OEM clear corners and side markers already and would hate to do Depo's in the rear.

Correct. However, after contacting the eBay seller he confirmed his part number was also 82111470162, so before pulling the trigger I rolled the dice and checked bimmerworld had it in stock. I jumped on it and was surprised to receive a tracking number the next day. I checked again later and it said out of stock… it fits perfectly!

Thank you! It’s been a blast so far. Just replaced the door gaskets with OEM units as they were cracked and not inline with the rest of the trim. Not super fun but not horrible to do after a bit of research and YT videos.

Completed a brake fluid flush using my Motive Power bleeder and while the wheels were off, did a proper detail to remove all the caked on dirt. Replaced all the center caps and gave the wheel bolts a refresh with a little paint. What a difference clean wheels make and it feels good to remove all the old wheel weight adhesive. So fresh so clean! Only bad thing is now I want to really clean the undercarriage! Dry Ice... hmm.

Installed my new Napa covered steering wheel from an eBay vendor in Poland. Overall happy with the job they did. Definitely makes the need to get my front seats reupholstered a priority. Also installed a Bluetooth music adapter in the glovebox for easy access. I was pleasantly surprised at the audio quality as I also looked at the higher quality Bluebus adapter, but pulled the trigger on the eBay option as I could mount it in the glovebox and charge the iPod without running additional cords. While I had the glovebox apart, I changed the cabin filter…yikes!

Next up the Eisenmann exhaust and a bunch of other OE parts and bits. This thing as been so much fun!

Dude, those front seats look barely used - at least from that angle. I don't know how much you drive it, but I don't see the point unless it's a once-a-month car...

Just shows I have some photography skills… LOL

No, I had them mildly refinished to avoid an overly artificial look and feel. It’s definitely an improvement compared to how they looked when I purchased the car and what’s typically seen.

Swapped out the Racing Dynamics strut bar with a Dinan to match the intake and added the Z8 strut tower protection caps. Thanks to @RRSperry and @M3C for the tip! Looks OEM plus!

I’ll be selling the RD bar if anyone wants it. Some superficial scratches but otherwise in fantastic shape.

If I'm not mistaken the Z8 caps need a little trimming all around the inner mounting, it is fairly easy to accomplish and after this they will fit even better.
If you can post closer up pictures how they fit right now.

Here you go... didn't need to do any trimming and they sit flush.

Installed the Eisenmann Sport exhaust today. Looks and sounds so much better than the universal Magnaflow muffler that was on the car. All new OE clamps, hardware and hangers installed along with some Borla AccuSeal clamps. Huge thabj you to @bmwstephen and @NotMpowered for your help and guidance!

Hagasan- random question but does your CD43's LCD display get hot when driving for a while? notably at night when the backlight is on? Trying to see if this is normal behavior because I noticed heat around the display area when I mess with the dials.

It does get warm but hasn’t felt abnormal. I’m sure it runs a bit hot due to the lack of space behind the stereo. I’ll monitor it and share my results.

Thanks could be normal behavior. This is only when I have the interior lights on so the extra output from backlights could be contributing to it

Installed the Euro LED from MSport Parts. Brett is offering it as a plug and play unit so super easy install. It adds some symmetry to the console. Plus my original LED wasn’t quite centered in the switch blank and always kinda bugged me. LOL

LOL… thank you, quite a few fantastic examples on here. Nevertheless, I’ve enjoyed personalizing it and restoring what’s needed. Love your Estoril and learned quite a bit from your posts as well as many others.

It’s been a minute since I updated this thread. I’ve been knocking out quite a few things and made a nice dent in the pile of parts that seemed to grow every week.

Completed a much needed brake overhaul including, pads, rotors, SS lines, hardware, sensors and a much needed refinish on the calipers that included seals and SS pistons. I think they turned out great and most importantly perform just as good.

Nice work. Were you noticing performance issues with them, or just feel like it was time?
