Ever since I got my e34 (1995 touring) 6 years ago it has had an intermittent groan / squeal when pushing down the brake pedal. Not all the time but some of the time.
Most often it’s once I have been driving for a while and the car is warmed up and the brakes have been used a bit more often. Also the noise seems to happen a bit more when I press it slowly over a harder press from memory. The sound appears to come from the pedal area.
We have tried lubricating in and around the pedal area behind the carpet (and along the bit behind the dash as I have a rhd). I can’t figure out if it’s:
A: something to do with the pedal / linkage itself
B: something to do with a fluid
C: something else in the braking system like a master cylinder
Very odd and very annoying once the noise starts.
Any ideas welcome!
replace the 2 bushes #10 35211158290 , probably broken into pieces long time ago, had the same problem on my E32 750 http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/E3...al/#1158290_10 double check the p/n with your VIN

Great thanks. Stupid question but this is a clutch part on my diagram, guess the brake pedal is the same set up.
My part number is 35211158290 so the same (number 14 https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=35_0157). Note my car started life as a 520i hence this diagram.
So will buy two of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292989690...mis&media=COPY
Hopefully this does the job, hard to install?
