My first BMW! 1988 750iL project

    Howdy!

I just bought my first BMW. She is a bit of a project. She had a catalytic converter melt the transmission cabling. Has been partially taken apart to repair! And, she hasn't been started in several years. So, that's where I begin.

I'm looking forward to getting started. My boys are eager to help figure it out.

I've bought a repair manual, and it is on it's way. Hopefully, I be able to find some help here when I get stuck!

Thanks in advance for helping this newbie!

My first task - get it on the lift! Where are the lift points???

I need to get my new project on the lift. Since my service manual is not here yet, I don't know for sure where the lift point are!

Is there access to the manual on line here on the forum? Or, can anyone tell me where the lift point are?

I have a two post lift.

    Thanks!

PS, I'd post some pictures, but haven't figured out how to get them to load on the forum!

I also have a MaxJax two-post lift. Jacking points shown here in the pics https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...fe-jack-points
Also see user manual for info on jack points, in case you do not have one, scroll down here http://www.e38.org/e32/ and download it. To post pics, you need some more posts.

    Thanks Shogun,

I appreciate the help. I've got her on the lift. And, began assessing the exhaust and cabling issues. Lots to figure out and replace.
