I’ve only gotten this message like 4 times and it’s usually happened to me randomly. The car runs perfectly fine changes gears fine etc. I recently changed the crank shaft sensor idk if that’s related to the issue. I need help I’m not sure what to do.
First, report the message you're getting.
When did you last change the fluid and filter?

I recently bought the car August 8th and the previous owner kept it in good condition it was just missing a bit Of oil so I added a quart and that was about it.
One of the main causes of the TFS message is a low battery.
I'd vote to get your battery tested & rule that out.

Yes, first step : test the battery and alternator, and recharge the battery anyway.
I’m having the same thing intermittently on my 01 M62 but the car runs like a champion! Thanks for this insight guys! I’m putting the trickle charger on right now!
Also I am a little over 100K
Isn’t that the recommended time to change the transmission fluid and filter?
Thanks again!

Yes
Okay sounds good! Thanks for the help I really appreciate it
Hey my negative connector was very loose I disconnected and waited 15 mins then reconnected the error code hasn’t gone away. But idk if it takes a while for the car to notice
Disconnecting the battery won’t clear codes.
okay hmm then what can it be since my battery isn’t dead.
Your battery may be low, not necessarily dead... yet.
What is the voltage of the battery with engine off, then with engine running ?! Use a mulit-meter or the OBD menu on the dashboard to read it.
okay I’ll take it to my nearest auto shop later but also to add my car revs and accelerates very slowly

Movin….what’s up with 2 posts on the same topic?
It’s better to just keep adding on to the original post, easier for others to follow and help you.
