Moon OBD2 device that simulates engine sounds through your speakers

Hey, I’ve always been a car enthusiast but never had the money to buy a performance car, so I made Wrumer, a device that simulates performance car sounds through your speakers.

I was wondering, as car enthusiasts, what do you think about it? Is this something you would consider buying? I was thinking it could be a fun gift for “car guys”.

I just started so I would love to hear any opinions you have

I was looking at new M cars at the dealer and they had what you built already. It’s not even possible to turn it off! Me myself would hate it.

They've had those as options since the F15 I think? But still cool none the less! Great job and cool device!

Would be cool to have certain sounds that you could add, like a chambered muffler, no cats, muffler packed with glass, straight pipe, cammed, etc.

Good job on the cool tech. But I really don't like the fact that modern cars are 'faking' exhaust sounds by pushing it through speakers. It's like using a VR headset to simulate a relationship. Don't like it.

Yep; sorry, not for me either. I don't even use the stereo in my NA E39 M5, because, well, the stainless cat-back exhaust system has very pretty, but completely empty mufflers. It's absolutely not obtrusive, in the car...normal, quiet speech is easy. But what a magnificent, elegant sound it makes!

Fake engine sounds are for video games and Prius's, not BMW's.

EDIT: Just watched the youtube video. Driver needs to have his license suspended for stupidly screwing with his phone repeatedly in heavy traffic.
