Post PDC troubles like no other

    Hi there,

I'm having a rather odd gremlin, my E38's PDC system is acting up. It worked fine in the morning when i was parking the car but didn't in the evening and hasn't worked since then.

Now I've had sensors fail in the past and the system give me the long beep when PDC is activated. But this time, the PDC system just doesn't turn on at all. No light on the PDC button, no beeping, no turning on in reverse, nothing

I checked the fuse and the fuse is fine, replaced it and tested and still nothing. Is the PDC module dead? How should I troubleshoot this?

I tried hooking up to the car with PA soft but the PDC module doesn't show up (it's greyed out).

    Any advice appreciated.

    TIA

Certainly sounds like a dead module, or you’ve lost powers/grounds to it somewhere.

If I am reading the WDS right, it goes Iggy switch, Fuse 19, uniloader relay in trunk (3rd from right), Fuse 64, PDC module. The uniloader relay also handles things like rear hvac control and cigarette lighter, so if those things are working, it would rule out that relay and Fuse 19. I've never had a bad PDC module, or really ever heard of it before, but it shows to sit under the row of fuses in the trunk. It has a two 12 pin connections. You should be getting power on pin one of the black connector.

Thank you for this. I finally got some time to work on this. I pulled the PDC module out and looks like it has 3 plugs going to it. I did unplug the black one and I am getting power to pin 1. So i guess that rules that out.

I have a replacement PDC module on it's way, in the meantime if anyone else has any ideas on what to try, please let me know!

If you have issues with the light control module, it plays games with pdc. My LKM has been acting up, and when it does, pdc dies
