I’m having a hell of a time keeping the wheels clean on my ’89 e30 cabrio. The OEM rims don’t make it easy, with all the nooks and crannies — anyone have recommendations on the best brushes/tools, best cleaning product, best process?
Thanks
I use Rim Wax on mine, they tend to keep the dust off better. Tooth brushes are nice, but also look at bottle cleaning brushes.

Switching to a lower dusting ceramic brake pad will help. There may be some compromise in brake feel but it’s nice not having black wheels all the time. Everyone has an opinion on ceramic pads, in the end depends on your priorities and preferences for brake feel. I use akebono euro on my e39 wagon and they perform well.
I agree to new brake pads. Get good ones with low dust. The OEM pads that were on mine were really dirty. You will be amazed in the difference.
Clean with Meguiar's® Hot Rims™ Wheel & Tire Cleaner. This is the one that's safe for paint and clear coated wheels.
There is no "best" brush. Use various brushes until you find what works for you.
Use Rim Wax or any decent paste wax. This will seal the paint and help keep the brake dust from sticking.
Take the wheels off the car at least once a year and clean both sides thoroughly followed by the wax. If you run the same wheels all year round, spring and fall would be better. In between those cleanings, just use the Hot Rims cleaner and skip the wax.

I found this tool to work very well on the basketweave wheels https://www.autozone.com/cleaning-to...E&gclsrc=aw.ds
Clean them insanely, and then ceramic coat them.
Ive used the tool personally so I know it works well
