    Compatible child seats.

    Hello.

My seatbelts at the back of my late e34 touring are not long enough to secure the Cybex child seat we have. Do you know of any other (new born friendly) child seats that would fit?

If there are any other safe tips and tricks in this department let me know.

    Thanks

    Kit

Sadly my research tells me these are not safe to use for child seats. They are designed for extra large passengers only.

    Update.

Just picked up a new seat which is a Cybex Cloud Z i-Size, slightly different shape and just fits. Have to say it’s quite solid when in, doesn’t move an inch, one upside of using the belt to its max I guess.

Hmm, I'm on the opposite side of this, looking for a touring to fit my child seat in! We have a Graco combo unit, so I just move the base from car to car and so far it's fit in just about everything except the 190E, the Jeep, and obviously the Z4. Definitely will be needing to consider front facing as my son gets older and we get ready for baby number 2.

Good luck with your search, reply with a picture of the touring you end up with. All the car you ever need I find.

Will do, though it seems the search will take some time.

Getting back to the seat, how do you like that particular model? Is it one of those units that ages with them til about 10 or so?

No, it will be from birth to 18 months only. I got a good deal on it so grabbed it. It’s one of the latest child seats (hence the i-size bit), so with the isofix base that will be in my wife’s ever reliable mk8 Honda Civic, it will swivel so it will be easier to get the kid in and out.

I think the fact it’s for a small aged child means it’s smaller generally, this helps me get it in place… just!

Here’s the link incase you want more info - https://cybex-online.com/en-gb/car-seats/cloudzisize.

We run a larger Graco now for our almost 8 month old daughter and had a Chicco before. Also, the Uppababy Ridge jogging stroller fits in the trunk perfectly, as long as the cd changer is removed.
