Hello everyone
My e34 525i 1989 m20b25 needs an oil change, what is the best oil? I am using 10w40 now and i used to use 20w50. What is the best oil recommended?
Single Stage
Anything with good zinc content. Castrol classic 20-50 or diesel oils like rotella.

Agree with using Diesel oils for zinc.
The most modern gas engines are using roller cam followers/lifters and oils for them don't provide the lubrication needed for the sliding action that traditional followers/lifters have.
Viscosities, 15/40, etc. also suit the old M20 and M30s well.
