    Oil Catch Can

    Hi all,

    New user.

I just bought a 2015 BMW 320d and I've seen a video on YouTube recommending installing a Oil Catch Can like how people do in 4WD's.

Does anyone have advice on this?

    Also a few added questions:

1 - Is there a setting for the SatNav so it zooms in and out automatically?
2 - How do I make the Climate Control work so when I adjust my side (driver) that it does the same for passenger?
3 - Why is the centre console so small, can I take out that weird phone thingy?

    Thanks.

    Phil

    Oil Catch Can

    Hi all,

I have just picked up a 2015 BMW 320d and I have seen a video on YouTube recommending installing an Oil Catch Can, just like how people do with diesel 4WD's.

    Any advice on this?

    Welcome to the Forum!

As for the catch can, I don't think diesels used one like the gasser counterpart.

For the HVAC, look for the "Sync" button, that should make both sides the same temp, ect.

In my experience with the 2.0 diesels (F chassis N47 and B47), the crankcase ventilation system is more than adequate for these and a catch can caught nothing. Not sure if it's worth the effort.

There's certainly no performance benefit and most people that put those on have put it on because of marketing.

Thanks for the replies guys. Sorry for the double post. How do I delete the double up posts?

Love the build quality and ride of the BMW. My first ever European car.

Normally the bots will take care of the double post, but if you want to, just go in to "Edit" and select delete.

HVAC= Heating system, you must have the "budget" version of the panel then if you don't see it.

Definitely no sync button in any F30 or F87.

    F45 and F25 have it.
