Sounds like a tire rubbing a fender, but it's not.
I figure something might be binding, but not sure what. Control arms i tightened a bit more, no change, thought might be the backing plate, clearanced that, no change. Sway bar ends?
Sounds like it's the passenger front, and only does it turning left, and only if I push it a little.
Anybody else experience this?
Thoughts?
I wonder if it's a soft trans mount, a little movement at the drive shaft center mount...
wheel bearing?
What is the offset on your wheels? The three times I have experienced this, it has always been the wheel rubbing against the control arm.
My Enkei92 wheels' offset is so close to max, that low tire pressure could cause this to happen. Or, after rotating my tires the wheel now in front was not be perfectly straight or had a wheel weight on the inside of the rim .
Wheel bearing has been on the car a while but it's fairly new; offset is 10, within prescribed spec, inside and out.
I don't think it's steering or wheel related (could be wrong!), needs to be something that moves with more stress on it (have to turn hard to get noise). Trans mount spent years with the trans hanging against it, could be maybe center support bearing.
We'll see here.
check the exhaust, that center section pipe between the cat and the muffler can rub on the rear driveshaft, near the diff (connection to the diff where rear u-joints are).
Well, I was wrong - there's a fair bit of play in that passenger side wheel bearing, and drivers side is moving as well.
Time to get the extra set of struts shortened, might as well do eveything at once, wheel bearings, suspension, and all that.
