    M-tech / CSi aero

Pardon if this has been already posted - I tried searching but can't come up with a definitive answer.

Where can I look up a list of part numbers to convert regular 850i front end (and rear end as well) to a M-tech/ CSi aero?
I know P/Ns for the front bumper and rear diffuser, but I'm sure there are other plastic bits and pans that I need to get in order to make it a factory-type install. Can somebody point me to a comprehensive list of parts, if there is one?

    Thanks!

Thank you, in the last diagram - all the pieces actually needed for the conversion? I feel like some of those are already on the car in a stock 850i form, no?

As a new owner of a 850i, I just bought the parts (trim panel, holder, and clips, but not the foil...i don't know what the foil is exactly or what its for?) listed on realoem for the rear CSi look from ECS. Not really sure how it will attach but I guess I'll figure it out when it arrives.

The foil is a matte black sticker that goes in the 'recess' on the CSI lower trim piece. Its ~2 inches tall and goes all the way across the middle of the part. Look at some photos and you'll see the black in there. The look could be achieved with paint too.

Huh, I wish they were $111.16
Reading online, there are accounts that parts 51712252004 and 51711970246 are actually the same part. Any truth to that? 51711970246 come on a stock 850 bumper already, so if that is the case, perhaps one can skip buying a $350 piece of plastic.

51712252004 is the air guide for the CSi bumper. Mine was lost or missing when I bought my car and I had to fork over the 350 bucks for it.

Understood. The question is if the other one is actually different. Did anyone compare the two pieces?

Those two parts are very different. If you have a CSi lower bumper you need the Csi air guide, or there will be a large gap in the front middle opening. The CSi part is twice as 'wide' as the standard (non CSi) part, and as it installs at an angle, will reach all the way down to the lower portion of the bumper opening.

Thanks for that insight! I'm just going to paint it body color and if I want to add the foil i'll make a decision after its installed to paint it black or apply the foil.

I know you found the part numbers for what you needed, but also don’t be afraid to call your local BMW parts department to order some if that old new stock. They have 11 CSI bumpers still.
