    Donor Car

My son decided that while his 83 320i is wide open and waiting for pistons might as well go for the the manual conversion. Found this 82 320i with the 245/5 OD so it should be a fairly straightforward install. Thing is what to do with the donor car afterwards? Its actually in pretty good shape - especially body. (Has these crazy 14" MB Wheels on it!) Car is complete and seems the M10 is all there with about 180k.

Guess we could put the auto in it but not sure why that would make it any more desirable. (Auto trans probably more desirable out of car anyways). Body is likely the most desirable part as interior is about average. Graphite metallic, maybe a respray on top of it. Anyhow hate to send it to wrecker as it pains me to see any e21's end up there. Any thoughts or opinions would be great. (his twin brother says track it! - Ha!) Thanks!

I'm with Team Twin Bro. Track it! (Hopefully he's the faster driver of the two, and he wants to start a sibling rivalry). Let's Go Team Twin Bro!

It should be worth a few hundred. What is the title status? No title? For parts only? Have you done a good inspection for rust? I think a scrapper gives you $200, but maybe you need to have a title with it. I sent one to the scrap yard and got paid, but I had a title to hand over with it.
You can sell it. Don't scrap it. The only reason I scrapped one is it was rusted quite bad.

How much better it looks compared to the new model in the background, the silver one.

If you have the space to keep it around, you have your own personal parts car. Long term you have the perfect candidate for an engine swap for twin brother.

If you can't keep it around I would say try as much to sell it whole to someone that does want to engine swap it.

I'd like to, but the haus frau is taking a dim view of all the cars around - two more in garage and two more not in photo. Plus three MC's - she's getting a tad cranky!

Ha! - That's his twins car, too! Lien sale with cleared paper so title should be no problem - car has been out of reg since 2015 I think, but probably could plead that down a bit at DMV if i get the right person... Rust isn't bad at all. Small blister at windshield, a bit at driver floor pan plug and some in trunk right - but not rot thru - mostly surface. Car remarkably clean but of course deeper inspection may show a bit more. Doesn't look like its ever been hit.

I need a driver's side floor pan. If good please don't scrap the car without giving me the opportunity to buy it. Doesn't take to long with a sawsall to cut it out.

Sorry but that car is too nice to cut a floor pan out of. If it comes to it I will give a bit more than a scrap yard would plus a transport fee.
