WTB: 540i Rear Calipers and Billy Boat exhaust

    Looking for a set of 540/740 rear calipers. Part numbers 34 21 1 160 399/400

Also looking for a Muffler setup of any kind, possibly a Billy Boat M50.

Preferred pick up around Charlotte NC but would be willing to pay shipping

Not sure your budget, but RockAuto has very reasonably priced rebuilt calipers, even if you eat the cost for cores...

Sadly they only have a RR caliper, left rear that does show does not have a bracket. Brackets seem to be made of gold.

Are you putting 540 rears on an M50 car? Why not upgrade the fronts as they do most of the work?

I basically had to monitor RockAuto weekly for a few months, but did finally get a pair of rear ATEs with brackets - rebuilt by two different companies, but you can usually confirmed the caliper brand via photos. I've also had luck finding these at AutoZone of all places (online only).

    Good luck!

So I ended up going with e36 M3 rear brakes, but I'm still looking for a cat back

I don't know if you used my thread to figure that out, but just in case, note that bleeders on the E36M calipers will be "backwards". You either plug the existing hole and drill a new bleeder hole, or bleed the calipers while they're hung up bleeder-side-up.

Catback will be cheaper and better buying a few mufflers on your own and going to a muffler shop.
