If it’s in really good shape put it on BAT.

Why a part out? Just sell it as is.

I'm guessing he meant "parting with" rather than "parting out"...

-Josh: 1998 S54 E36 M3/4/6 with most of the easy stuff and most of the hard stuff. At least twice. 271k miles. 1994 E32 740il with nothing but some MPars. 93k miles.

I been debating on sell or not selling. I’m 80% sure I’ll be selling whole car.

Sorry for the late ass response

I was never interested. On my 99 M3, I had a Dinan Powerdyne kit in 2006, an RMS intercooled kit in 2007, and changed to a turbo in 2009 — and still have it. Also, I would never buy a heavy, slow (yes a non-intercooled Dinan supercharged one is still slow in my opinion), flexible convertible. But I am sure it would make some people happy.

All those options are slow for today's standards.

My turbo E36 M3 is competitive by today’s standards. It has over 700 rwhp on 93 pump plus meth. Took a lot of work to get there, though. I actually probably liked it more when it had around 525 rwhp. You can do that with no engine work other than a thicker headgasket and ARP head studs, and the trans, driveshaft and diff output stubs will take the power.

I got the RMS intercooled Vortech kit up to 465 rwhp, but wanted more torque. I tried shorter and shorter diffs, but then I wanted a 6 speed and it just made more sense to change to a turbo. It makes full boost at much lower rpm so I prefer the power to that of the centrifugal.

I had an E90 M3 for 10 years that was also fun. It had short gearing from the factory because it made power way up top. I modded it as well but it never felt really fast to me. My E36 M3 when supercharged to 465 rwhp would have taken it and even with the original turbo system the E36 M3 would have run away from the modded NA E90 M3. The E90 M3 would have needed a supercharger and there are both centrifugal and positive displacement options. Even with the E90 M3 supercharged, my turbo E36 M3 in its current form would beat it.

I now have an F90 M5 and it is also modded but my turbo E36 M3 is just as fast or faster. Not quicker though because it is still manual transmission.

Okay if it’s faster than an F90 M5 then it’s fast as hell, even by todays standards.
