Everything else works fine. Can’t pop the glass to open.
Looked up fuses, didn’t see tailgate/glass on the menu.
The hatch pops open just fine, and closes fine.
Any tips where to start?

Check the wires in the hinge area. You have to remove the plastic covers, at this age, they get frayed up in there. If they got frayed and exposed to the environment, the copper will have gotten the corrosion in the exposed area, but the creeping copper black death may have gone both directions from the exposed area. If that happened, you have to expose the copper by stripping off the shielding until the copper looks like copper, solder new wire in there to complete the wire, use the same gauge, can’t remember what it was, but probably 18 gauge, over it up with heat shrink. In the covered hinge area, you have to make the repair as clean and size wise, match the original wires as much as possible, the covers will give you a hard time if the wire repair is too large in diameter.

Still not opening. I can hear the electric motor come in. But it’s not like the lower motor.
Can have a weak motor? Wiring all looks good. Just wimpy wimpy hatch motor.
Not enough to pop the glass. More of an irritating problem. I rarely use the glass hatch.
But would like it to operate.

Motor? For the glass? I thought it was a solenoid. The door base has a motor.
Yep, it’s a solenoid.

Ok, can I have a weak solenoid?

Bought a replacement used solenoid hatch mechanism. I just swapped out the pansi solenoid with my new one. Working perfectly now.
