2015 335i. I watched at least three YouTube videos on how to install the cabin air filter. Everyone in the videos seems to concur that the airflow is towards the front of a car plus the filter manufacturer include instructions and says the same thing. However, the last filter was installed by a dealer and the airflow was pointing to the rear. There is absolutely no way that you can examine all of the plastic underneath this dashboard and determine airflow direction without ripping half the car apart. I installed mine with the airflow pointing front. Any reason to think that I am wrong?
The arrow should point towards the smaller arch when its curved, per BMW repair instructions.

The answer hit me as I was trying to get to sleep last night. When changing the filter, the old filter always has captured debris in it. The debris is on the backside of the filter in this case because that's where the airflow enters the chamber. Therefore the front of the car is the direction of airflow which the arrow should point towards. So the dealer mechanic who installed the last filter put it in wrong. I wish I could see what those bozos charged for changing a cabin filter.
