Driving my sons e90 and it has a mild but pronounced shudder on acceleration but seemingly only from zero (not felt accelerating at speed). Automatic trans.
I told him might be Guibo or transmission mounts or tranny fluid may need change? Any suggestions would be helpful?

Also have a look at the center support bearing too.

I had this exact same issue on my '07 328i auto. My friend is a mechanic (so am I, but not professional) and owns some BMWs . He immediately said that these cars have GM transmissions and it's a known issue, and that I should try a tube of Lube Gard Shudder Fixx. I'm not a big fan of fix-o-fluids, but I put some in and damned if it didn't work! So then I put the car on the rack and changed the tranny oil and filter (pretty easy DIY job) and added a tube of Shudder Fixx to fluid and I've had no problems since... YMMV.
My car had ~ 97K when I did this and has ~ 130K now.

My 2011 328 developed stutter around 90K miles (GM transmission). Indy euro mechanic replaced transmission filter and serviced ATF fluid with anti-stutter additive (I think I read somewhere that there’s a specific anti-stutter additive recommended by BMW, but could be wrong). I’m not sure what additive the Indy mechanic used, but transmission is doing well since (currently at 116,xxx miles).
I plan to service transmission fluid every 40K miles moving forward (will DIY next time).
