    M50 tuning options

I’m just beginning a m50 swap in my e30, but I’m starting to think about what tuning options are available once I finish. I currently have the brown Bosch ecu #0261200402. I don’t know much about tuning but it seems like the options are a reflash or a chip, which one is a better bang for buck? I have a local mechanic that specialize in old Mercedes’ and bmws and they have a dyno and are able to do some tuning with that, but is a chip better and cheaper? Any advice helps thanks in advance.

There's no reflashing of those old ECUs, it's just a chip burn every time. There's not much to be gained (a true 3-4% at best just from tune), but I guess it depends how much they charge.
