Did a cooling system on the 525

I had a leaking radiator on the wagon.
Ordered all the fixings to do it up.
New hoses, thermostat, water pump, coolant tank,
Aluminum water pump pulley, new temp sender,
    The whole 9 yards.

It’s hot, and I have COVID, so it’s slow going.
Most of the parts that came off were about 10
years old. It had a metal water pump impeller. I would have
reused it, but just started over. Wanting every drop out I managed
to remove the block drain bolt. Other have said that if you are doing
the water pump, that’s the same level as block drain .it’s not, a lot more
Coolant came out. I let it drain overnight.

I jacked up the nose and used a non BMW coolant.
It’s still blue, so I’m sure it will be fine. I also stuck in
a blue bottle of VP racing Cool down additive.
Needle looks maybe a nano cooler? Might be sitting on my wallet wrong.

Tried a different method of bleeding. Jacked nose way up. Turned key to
accessories, put both cabin temperature at 90.
That started the electric aux pump. As I filled up the coolant tank,
It started pumping out fluid. I racked both brass bleeder screws, very
Low bubbles or air. I did a test run, but will check it tomorrow
    after a cooldown.
I will always own a BMW.

Nice work. Bleeding the air out of the radiator has always been a confusing procedure and everyone seems to have a slightly different approach. I find that bleeding over several days helps to get all the air out.

Hope you're recovering well from COVID. I had it back in March of last year.
